    Hello,

you can open one of vBSEO files in text editor and at the top of file you should see a few meaningful lines that will mention either ioncube or zend

I was instructed following by vbulletin experts to keep off server loads.
Install APC Cache lastest version from PECL :: Package :: APC. Read install guide at HOW-TO: Install APC Cache (alternative to Turck Mmcache/Eaccelerator) - vBulletin Community Forum - please remove Zend Optimizer from php.ini before installing APC Cache
    Should i remove Zend ?
    Please guide me here.

You should install Ioncube loaders instead of Zend Optimizer in this case and switch to ioncube version of vBSEO.

Although it is possible to get both zend and ioncube running simultaniously, I'd suggest to keep only one encoding library to avoid possible issues (unless you are using both of them).

    Last question for this thread:
    Is there any difference between
    APC Cache vs IonCube
    and
    Zend vs IonCube ?

Which is the best eaccelerator of this 3 ?
I have a dedicated server Pentium 3.0 ghz with 2 GB ram and 60 GB SCSI drive with 3 large forums, but the server load is always 1.5+
The upgrade process is very very slow for one of my forums which has least no. of posts out of all 3.

    Thank YOu.

I would uninstall it, because APC does not like it at all.

    thankyou for your comments teck, but I am still confused here;

I have Zend installed and according to vbulletin team experts I am instructed to remove ZEND and asked to installed APC Cache.

I dont know if vbseo can run with ZEND and IonCube, can it only support APC Cache ?

I dont know what are all this applications or eccalerators, I only know about php, apache or mysql..

    A noob seeking help.

You will need to install(keep) ionCube + APC and uninstall Zend, if you want to use APC as cache optimizer.
You cannot keep Zend installed because APC will give you errors and will not run.
vBSEO is running on this website (vbseo.com) with APC and ionCube. Zend is not compatible with APC.

thank you teck that cleared much of my doubts.
I have ioncube installed on my server, I think I will only need to install APC Cache now.

Btwn, if you read this post once again, you can please tell me what is IONCube, Zend, APC or eaccelerators ?

Thank you so much for help.
