Would enabling tags cause server drain?

I just enabled tags on the VB control panel and noticed the CPU usage jumped a fair mount.

Would enabling tags do that or just some coincidence?

I would not think by activating them it would show a huge increase in the load. Have you tried asking vbulletin about it?
