Working without "Options +FollowSymLinks" ?

    Hi,

    my Webhost offer mod-rewrite, but without "Options +FollowSymLinks".

    Will vBSeo work with this?

    Hi,

    you may give it a try, but most likely it wouldn't work. You may try to set "Options +FollowSymLinks" in .htaccess though.

    Here is the quote from Apache mod_rewrite doc:
    Note
    To enable the rewriting engine for per-directory configuration files you need to set ``RewriteEngine On'' in these files and ``Options FollowSymLinks'' must be enabled. If your administrator has disabled override of FollowSymLinks for a user's directory, then you cannot use the rewriting engine. This restriction is needed for security reasons.

    What a pitty.

    Idea: I could test it out for you (and probably me ) , if i am accepted as tester and give you a definitve Feedback so you can anwer the question definitve.
