ok thats understandable .... but why my forum is being slow tho ?
It shouldn't effect your forum itself it will however effect your vbseocp if you have only just installed as your licence will be trying to validate.
Ceri
well..... yes my licence is not validated yet.... and i guess thats what causing the forum being slow down....
I have 1 hosting account with 12 communities, 2 of them run under vbseo. This is all 1 vb instance, and the site with vbseo showing (unregistered) is very very sluggish.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/693961/vbseo_oops.png and things seem to be going wrong too trying to validate the instance.
Mind you, both licenses are status: open (valid)
and both were showing "Green" in the vbseocp before the hosting issue.
I do agree. I had the same problem yesterday. I have two vbSEO forums. In one of them I did change some vbseocp config settings. This caused the license status to go to "Unreg" and subsequently all forum access was VERY VERY slow. I did trace this to an http callback in vbseo_startup which seemed to be executed on every page request. Once I uncommented that http call the pages became fast again; but vbSEO would be disabled.
This is a very disturbing dependency.
I'm assuming that those who had issues with the license keys today had not saved their *valid* keys via the cp after installing (or upgrading). If datastore was cleared, so did their key, and consequently it would have tried to retrieve it from vbseo.
It should definitely *not attempt* to reach us if the key is valid.
As I said via tweet, I'm not assuring there's not a bug somewhere, but that's how it *should* work. I'm awaiting feedback from Oleg on the matter.

Same here, License validation matter is not important for me but vbseo makes my site very slow to comfirm license..
Hope, Oleg fixes it soon.

Hi Juan,
actually my license key would show in green before the incident; so it must have been saved correctly.
As I said: I suppose there must be some kind of connection between making changes in vbseocp and the license revalidation. In my other forum which also has vbSEO and where I did not change anything in vbseocp, performance remained good. Only the forum with the changes got impacted.
Btw: Are you still having issues? I just got a "Server too busy" message (HTTP 408/409).
As Juan explained technically there should be no calls between vBSEO Cp and vBSEO.com License Database after license key is saved. We are currently investigating this issue more detailed to see what can cause this.

All I did was apply the patch before Christmas, and it has been showing green - for unknown reason the wetalk.tv footer shows (unregistered) while wetalknation.net showed registered. Nothing changed on our side for weeks. No vB upgrade, no vBSEO upgrade. This started happening in the last 24 hours.
After investigating why the wetalk.tv sites (same set of files and etc as the other 10 communities) was so slow it turned out to be the vbseo callback.
