When vBSEO's site crashed, our site crashed?

I'm sure there is no correlation (was there?), but around 7:00 PM (EST) we lost access to our forum completely. A blank white page was displayed reading [internal vBSEO error]. We have since disabled the plug-in and gained control over the front page and main index page, but we were not able to access any forum threads or posts.

A technician disabled the rest of the vBSEO program and we were able to gain access to our site completely, with the exception of some images and links on CMPS that still used vBSEO URL's.

vBSEO is a WONDERFUL product and I want to turn it back on, but I'm concerned it will crash the site again. I can't afford to keep it turned off, because most of our pages have been indexed by Google in vBSEO's format. Currently, MOST of our links in Google are DEAD because of this.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation? Can you advise?

Your site does not contact vBSEO unless your copyright notice shows 'unregistered'. We had a similar case this morning. Please pm me your site's URL.

Just a note to say thank you to Juan!

In a matter of minutes, he addressed my issue and took time out from his schedule to help me resolve it. Many thanks!

I'd also like to add... vBSEO is an outstanding product. It took two years to build 25,000 unique visitors monthly. Since we installed vBSEO three months ago... we now have nearly 60,000 unique visitors a month.

    Kudo's to Juan and vBSEO!

Just to stop the wondering that people will be doing, what caused this?

(My sites stayed up the entire time.)

PropDyn's case was the same as Keith's (a bug in an older version of vBSEO) - See this old post for more info. PropDyn was using 2.0 Gold.

Buro9's case is different, he had a current version of vBSEO, which displays 'unregistered' if the key is not stored in datastore. His datastore was cleared while our site was down thus started displaying 'unregistered' and attempting to contact our server.

We are currently working on including a definitive solution in v.2.3.3 that will enable users to request, access, control and store their license keys at will via the config panel.
