Question What URL Setting is best?

OK, I know this has had to been asked before but I had no idea what you'd call it to do a search.. so be nice!

    ok heres the question....

Whats better to have as a URL to a page?
    www. website.com/f6/content.html?
    or
    www. website.com/section/content.html?

I'd think that www. website.com/section/content.html would be better because the section could help during a persons search in a search engine wouldn't it? like my site I'm opening soon, its about the movies "The Crow" and "Brandon lee"

Wouldn't I get more indexs or hits from a URL like
    www. mysite.com/thecrow-city-of-angels/the-2nd-movie.html
    then I would from
    www. mysite.com/f6/the-2nd-movie.html

wouldn't a search for "the Crow city of angels" find the top URL more then it would on the bottom??

I hope this post makes sence..

If you use a structure that uses f1, f2, etc.. in for your forum titles, then you can more easily change the names of your forums later down the road without messing up your search engine rankings and internal page rank.

I personally am not concerned with the keywords in my url at all an prefer the following.

Forum URL - www .domain .com / f1
    thread url - www. domain . com/t1

I can't set here and tell you this is the best setup, but it works well for me.

I used the forum_title in my first vbseo site and it was indexed quickly and the forums even got PR.. but as Mike said, when I wanted to change the name of a forum, I lost all those pages.. They do get redirected to the new ones but you still will lose some progress. I try and keep the url's short and 2-3 keywords in the thread_title.

and i use a .html extension, but I would have liked to start off with f1/thread-title/ url's like vbseo does.

it's all a guessing game really

I would get rid of f1 f2 in the thread title. You don't need that. Just make it yoursitecom/thread-title-id/ (not f1/thread-title-id/). In this case you can rename forum or move thread and it won't hert rankings.
