    Question ***What happened ?? ***

I'm a moderator at a site which installed your product ,

We had vbSEO installed, before when we did a Google search for "Cameldog" the first link would be our forum (Cameldog Mixed Martial Arts Forums), in the standard vb options we described our site as "The Premier UFC & MMA discussion and community forum." and this would appear in Google.

It disappeared two weeks ago and even typing in searches with "Cameldog" and our main key words like "MMA" reveal nothing - in fact, where we posted links of our site show up in Google but our site is almost non-existent, our threads don't show up, when it did before.

    Is something wrong here ?

I assumed vbSEO would enhance SEO, not make it worse !

The surprising thing is our links here would show up quickly, but our own site is not showing up in search engines !

vbSEO was installed by a vbSEO tech I believe ,,

This is our site - Cameldog Mixed Martial Arts Forums

How long was your forum online before installing vBSEO?

How much traffic were you getting before, and how much are you getting now that the terms you mentioned are not listed for you.

You should remove your "site title" from your thread and sub-forum pages, so that those pages can better rank for their own terms.

I'll read the link you provided and to answer your question -

The forum has been online for little over a month.

vbSEO was installed on my server by one of your techs on June 11.

As for traffic, looking at cPanel and Awstats, most traffic is direct or from links from other sites, almost nothing from search engines.

About this - "You should remove your "site title" from your thread and sub-forum pages, so that those pages can better rank for their own terms", where and how can this be done ?

    Changes to the site ?

Just had the new designed skin installed today, submitted the site to Google, Dmoz, and Yahoo ... and that's it.

Have to read about the "Long Tail" .... not sure why the main forum link would disappear when it was first place.

Just as an aside, I have a Wordpress blog where I mention the Cameldog forum, and that shows up in Google , and I can see that people actually find the site through search engines.

But for the forum site , I'll post the cpanel Awstats search engine terms for June, there;s some strange search engine terms people searched for and found my site and aren't even on my site -

Also, even the domain name itself - Cameldog Mixed Martial Arts Forums, if you google it you don't get the forum at all -

    cameldog.net - Google Search

Most of these search engine finds came before and soon after vbSEO installed, I'm not sure what exactly is wrong but I began noticing weaker search links, also strange terms like "ipsymcom forum", that term isn't anywhere on my site ..

For example, the search term 'Khellus', we were the 4th item, but now the link has disappeared.

What I noticed is all our links have seemingly disappeared or possibly been pushed back so I can't find them.

When vbSEO was first installed , there was lots of initial traffic from spiders and crawlers, including googbot, yahoo, and technorati.

It seems the spiders came .. but the pages never were indexed.

Did you submit your sitemap to Google Webmasters account ?

When i roughly check your site there are tons of things i can suggest with your site.
    Keep CSS inside filesystem
    Remove template comments
    Use vBSEO Relevant Replacement feature
    Remove showpost urls from sitemap
    Remove member urls from sitemaps

It's still early for you. Sometimes you'll see a bit of early traffic that tapers off when you first launch a site. With a little over a month online, you are actually doing well so far.

I think you might want to add the Relevant Replacements back to your forum, as Mert suggested.

Hi Mert, thanks for your post -

i didn't submit my site to Google Webmaster's , is that a part of Google Analytics ?

I paid for a professional installation of vbSEO from here as I am not very knowledgeable in SEO optimization ,and assumed the tech would have done everything to optimize the site.

So not sure how all that is done ..

Thanks - I've been doing alot of reading .. and come to the skeptical conclusion my forum has been removed from the Google database ??

At Google Webmaster Tools, this is noted -

    • Verify that your site ranks for your domain nameDo a Google search for www.[yourdomain].com. If your site doesn't appear in the results, or if it ranks poorly in the results, this is a sign that your site may be penalized for violations of the webmaster guidelines. If we find certain problems with your site - for example, malware - we'll let you know via the Message Center You should also review your site against the webmaster guidelines and, submit a reconsideration request.

Now, my site ( www.cameldog . net) , even when searching for the domain name in Google, is gone, and no pages of my forum are indexed in Google.

They used to be before - was my site penalized for some unknown reason I'm unaware of ?

All similar forums and sites can be found by googling their domain names, my site has simply been removed, and I have no idea why.

4 min bump. that might be a record of impatience. lol

    Results 1 - 10 of about 1,610 from cameldog.net.

    you're in there.

you DO have a lot of showpost URL's in there though.
i'd highly suggest using the vbseo option to "replace showpost link with permalink" and NOT include showpost urls in the sitemap.

You're new... you're in a transition period. It will take a couple weeks to stir the pot and settle in.

i posted this a 100 times now, but once more time can't hurt. i took a nice dip too... but the rebound is so worth it.

I see that you do have pages indexed:
    site:cameldog.net - Google Search

However, I can confirm that search for your domain does not bring you up.

Is there anything in the message center?
