What does vBSEO cache using memcached/xcache/eAccelerator/APC etc.?

I was wondering what the cache option is for. What exactly is it that vBSEO will store into the cache?

vBSEO stores in cache forums info (to avoid additional db query), pre-compiled custom rewrite rules and other details, like ready-to-use string with footer archive links.

Does it normally query anything from the DB or just files?

vBSEO reads vBulletin database when required as well.

The best is to use memcached if you have a separate memcached server. If you don't you should use xCache

but when i use xCache it starts creating lots of files with .core extension.. and fill up my vps hard in hours.. :(

core files are memory dumps of a process that crashed.

Your install is probably corrupt and should be re-installed.
