Hmm, I don't acually think it worked for him at all, as his page cached by Google does show the guest notice on his forum home.
Has anyone actually checked the cached copy of their page in Google. Does this feature really work as intended?
Has anyone received any opinion on this feature from Google? Is this indeed a feature OK for webmasters to use?
You can view the source and search the html and see that it is turned into javascript.

Thanks Mike.
Would VHD or an image be the preferred method of displaying Guest Welcome message on a fixed-width forum? Would a 6 KB .gif file slow down page load time more or less than the java script? I don't think I am able to measure the difference, but perhaps you, or someone else, may know?
Thanks for VBSEO!
I do not know what would run faster either. An image or the javascript. Maybe someone else can chime in no that.

I would expect the image to actually cache and be slightly faster in rendering. However VHD is still fast to display, and is obviously more versatile and easier to update.
