Virtual HTML Display - What is it?

If you'd like to get an authoritative answer whether Google has a problem with this or not, vote for this question here: Google Moderator and Matt Cutts (Grabbag questions, April 2009) may answer it.

In my opinion the question is not correctly asked as a very important point is missing. The same content with js is served both guests and bots. Without this part , the question doesnot mean anything to me.

That's obviously the point of using Javascript. Why would anybody try using Javascript if they wanted to just do cloaking? Adding anything about cloaking to the question would just make it more confusing.

Leaving aside the question of whether ot not Google likes it, where and how exactly is this feature enabled, disabled, or configured?

The feature can be enabled within vBSEO Cp , please look for Virtual HTML Display within vBSEO Cp , or just use vbseocp.php#seo_vhtml

That string does not appear anywhere within the vBSEO 3.30 ACP page for me. And if I try to use the URL it just loads the ACP/Settings page at the top of the page.

Make sure you have latest vBSEO files uploaded correctly

Thanks! That was the problem, apparently. I reuploaded the files and of course there's the menu item now staring right at me.

It could be completly unrelated but I have removed the front page mod I embedded into the vhtml to see if it fixes the issue.

You need to manually add Virtual Html Box code to your templates.

You added <!--VBSEO_VIRTUAL_HTML--> twice. The second one should be: <!--/VBSEO_VIRTUAL_HTML-->
