    vBulletin / vBSEO contracting - Hire someone to help?

    Is there anyone on the boards who's a 100% pro at vBulletin and vBSEO who is available for contract to work on my site?

    vBSEO is working great, but currently having some technical glitches. Lately, the site has been really slow with posting, and members sometimes have to click submit 2 or 3 times to get a new thread to post... often getting duplicate posts.

    Today, every link on the page is giving a database error.

    Site is ehMac.ca: Canada's Mac, iPod and iPhone Community!

    For the delay when posting, try clearing out the Update Services field in the vBSEO Control Panel.

    I don't currently see an error on your site, but the next time you see it, View Source on that page and look near the bottom to see the "real" database error.

    The fellow that currently does the webhosting did something to get the site going again.
    At the time, the error was:

    <!--
    Database error in vBulletin 3.6.5:

    Invalid SQL:

    SELECT postid
    FROM post AS post

    WHERE threadid = 57206
    AND visible = 1

    ORDER BY dateline
    LIMIT 0, 10;

    MySQL Error : Can't open file: 'post.MYI' (errno: 144)
    Error Number : 1016
    Date : Monday, October 29th 2007 @ 01:55:08 PM
    Script : FireWire HD - How To Choose? - ehMac.ca
    Referrer : ehMac.ca - Search Results
    IP Address : 76.90.50.73
    Username : Unregistered
    Classname : vb_database
    -->

    I will try clearing out the "Update Services" field in VBSEO.

    I read something of a new Beta version of vBSEO coming out that didn't have encryption that was faster, and sent PM's to try the beta, but haven't heard anything back. Is a non-beta version of that coming out soon?

    Just tried clearing out the "Update Services" field in VBSEO, and no speed improvement. New threads take forever to post, sometimes not at all, and will take a couple of tries.

    Still wondering if there is anyone to contract out, either at vBSEO, or externally, to take a look at things closely.

    That DB error would not be related to vBSEO. It looks like there was a problem with your mySQL server or at least, one table in particular, that caused that issue.

    As for the beta of 3.0.1, since your site has over 500k posts, you would qualify if you wanted to try it. Just open a support ticket to request.

    There are users here that offer consulting services. I'm sure they will contact you via PM when they discover this thread.

    Thanks for the advice. This is why I want to contract someone though... I don't know how to run a repair and optimize through phpmyadmin on the post table. (I don't know what phpmyadmin is nor the post table)

    I really should learn, but just don't have the time at the moment.
