vBulletin 3.8 to be released today, when will vBSEO 3.2.5 become available?

    See here: https://www.vbseo.com/f77/problems-s...57/#post185478

There are also some other problems with 3.2.0 that you have to scour around these forums to find and apply.

    From vBulletin:
vBulletin 3.8.0 ("Gold") to be Released on Thursday, January 8th

3.8 has progressed well through the beta and release candidates stage. We're happy to announce that the stable release of 3.8.0 will be made available to all customers with active licenses on Thursday, January 8th.

We would like to thank all customers who have taken part in the beta/release candidate process and especially those who have filed bug reports.
You don't provide release dates so are your customers supposed to simply sit on their hands for an indefinite period after vBulletin 3.8.0 Gold comes out? Are you prepared for the onslaught of tech support requests that are about to come because people are going to upgrade their boards to the latest release and, only after, discover that vBSEO is upgrading on a later schedule?

I'm quite happy to wait for quality. If you are one of those people who has to install the latest of everything the day they are released, you will always be working with (to some degree) untested software. QA/QC and beta testing only go so far. $.02

Thank you for the cheap advice but it doesn't answer my question.

I'm not sure if you're paying attention to what vBulletin has done but v3.8 has gone through 3 Betas, and 2 Release Candidates. What, in your estimation, is the definition of "untested" so that, perhaps, I can ensure we are using the same adjective?

It would seem prudent for vBSEO to walk in step with these upgrades. I may be paying attention but there are many that are not. If you even go to the 3.7 Troubleshooting forum, for instance, you'll find at least a dozen threads that are started there that point back to a bug that needs to be fixed in vBSEO.

I have a feeling that the snowball effect of customers upgrading to a Gold Release for VB3.8 will unwittingly have broken boards because vBSEO is not being proactive about this release. In contrast, products that are provided for free on vBulletin.org have been keeping in step to allow beta testing of their software with the vB3.8 release candidates.

The current version of vBSEO will work fine with vBulletin 3.8.0, just as it does with 3.7.x. Any new features of vBulletin 3.8.0 will not be rewritten until vBSEO 3.2.5 has been released, however.

And the bug to which you are referring has a patch shown here: New posting error in vB3.8RC2

Would you please define what you mean that vBSEO 3.2.0 "works" with vB3.8? According to the thread I linked to in my OP, a user who had upgraded to RC2 noted this:
When I click on "show all groups" nothing happens. Rather than show "/group.php?do=grouplist", it simply takes me back to the default view.

I've looked in the vbseo cp and there's no option to disable vbseo for social groups
By "work" do you mean that I can't use new functions in vB3.8 because vBSEO 3.2.0 breaks them?

Also, I realize the patch is available but, given that every user that upgrades to 3.7.5 is breaking the newreply.php, I would think a more aggressive notice of this patch would have been made instead of allowing so many to wander over to vBulletin forums and ask for troubleshooting help. Why not send a PM to all members about this patch?

Thx Keith ... Ok but is there a recap thread where we can find all manual fixes to apply (the ones we already know from vb beta or RC release) at least for having the less bug possible with vbulletin 3.8.0 (I mean fully) and also vbulletin blog 2.0 ?

Excellent suggestion. I think we can send something out today to alert users to the availability of our patch.

As you can see Keith clearly mentioned that new features will be supported in vBSEO 3.2.5 and Social Groups had lots of improvements in vBulletin 3.8. The link you supplied is a new function.

As you can see even on RC stages vBulletin adds new functionality. Thats why we need to wait until they release their Gold so we can finalize our QA and deliver a high quality product.
