vbulletin 3.6 to 4.1 with vbseo

I am migrating a forum from vbulletin 3.6 to 4.1 and have a couple of questions.

    * License for testing - I am running a test instance of the forum on test.mysite.com/forums (production is on mysite.com/forums). I am getting and error that says vbseo is not licensed... is this right? I would think running on a subdomain for testing should be OK. If not, how do I test this?

    * Upgrade process - I am planning to use the following steps... is this OK?

    1. Uninstall all add-ons, plug-ins, and products. (except vbseo)
    2. Switch to standard vbulletin template and revert all.
    3. Disable vbseo.
    4. Install latest vbulletin 3.8.
    5. Test.
    6. Install latest vbulletin 4.1.
    7. Disable plug-ins again in config.php.
    8. Install latest vbseo.
    9. Re-enable plug-ins.
    10. Re-enable vbseo.
    11. Test.
    12. Start the long process of getting template and organization of site back in order.

Is this correct, or should I do an interim upgrade of vbseo between 3.8 and 4.1. I upgraded another site that had a critical add-on and it failed unless I did the interim upgrade of their script, but their stuff is different between 3 and 4, and my understanding is that vbseo is the same.

    Thanks for any assistance.

    Hello,

You may request a test license via ticket for all active licenses. vbseo is tied to the EXACT forum url and path.

You should DISABLE all plugins, including vbseo before upgrading. un-installing them will cause you to lose settings/db table data.
    perform the vb4 upgrade.
then install vbseo 3.5.2 with the vb4 product file and then re-enable it.

Other products may have different procedures and we cannot support them.

installing 3.8 is a waste of time... you'll have to go through it anyway via the upgrade script. just load 4.1 pl2 from the start.

Thanks, I'll bypass 3.8 then. I am uninstalling the plug-ins and add-ons because I don't intend to keep them, OR, I will need to install newer versions for v4. I'll request a test serial.
