vBSEO with Welcome Headers Plugin

I just got done upgrading one of my sites and had to reinstall the Welcome Headers Plugin. While I was in the readme it said:

"Note: vbSEO recommends that users apply this plugin to the navbar template rather than the header template. To do so, select the navbar template, scroll to the end of it and add the code $welcomeheaders there. Save the template and do not modify your header template."

Is there any particular reason for this? Because I would much rather place the $welcomeheaders code in my header template and not my navbar.

It is just personal preference. The purpose of vbseo is search engine optimization, and putting the welcome header above the navbar pushes your "first words", and possibly some h tags down as well, depending on any customization you have done.

It isn't required that you do this though, you can set it up either way.
