vBSEO on test forum?

Hello,

I installed a copy from our forum on a new server and upgraded to the latest vB3.5. I created a subdomain that redirect to the forum copy on the new server.

Now I installed VBSEO but when I turn it on I get a Internal Server Error 500. Is this the copy protection in action? Aren't we allowed to test it on our test forum or is there something else going wrong?

I have to remove the .htaccess if I want the forum working again. Is this normal?

Hi,
"Server Error 500" usually means the problem with .htaccess file. Try to reupload .htaccess in ASCII mode (use binary mode for all *other* other files though).

I copied the contents from the htaccess file through the console myself zo that's not it.
So vBSEO should work on our test forum?

I'ts clear that we need the .htaccess file for this to work. The rest works just fine. When we activate the plugins urls are changed and stuff but offcourse you get an error without the .htaccess file.

Please help.

BTW. I'm running this on a test forum -> SUBDOMAIN.DOMAIN.COM not -> WWW>DOMAIN.COM
These two are on different servers. Is the script using www instead of subdomain ? If so this is the problem. How can we change this so it uses the subdomain?

vBSEO will work at subdomain.domain.com as well. Please check your server's error log for details regarding error 500.

Are you running PHP5? if so, are you using the ionCube version?

There's a known conflict between php5 and ionCube that causes (500) errors. Have you tried the Zend version?

Nope running php4 and not seeing any strange error.
