Might be with vbcom and not here. Be sure that forum is not publicly accessible.

vbcom? "Be sure that forum is not publicly accessible". You meant vBCMS comments?

If the comment forum is disabled for guests, there's no way that a bot can see it.

I have disabled it now for everyone except admin and super moderator. Dont know if this is good or bad.

If you do that, can regular users still make comments?

They can make comments in the articles but not access the vmcms comments I guess.

I personally found that when I disabled guests from being able to view the vBCMS Comments forum the comments didn't display on the article either... The fact that vBCMS can even be accessed seems to be a flaw in design with vBulletin, personally I think it should automatically redirect to the Article if accessed.
The only other thing I could suggest is adding the link to your vBCMS Comments forum in your robot.txt file.
Yes Ceri you are right. However I found a setting in vBulletin forum manager that blocks a forum from being indexed by search engines. I have chosen this option for the vBCMS Comments.

You should also add the forum name for vBCMS comments to your robots.txt
