Hi,

I'm kind a new in here. Trying to speed up my forum alittle.

Just enquire. For the 1st portion [forum_id] in URL formats, where can I change those settings of adding [forum_id]; is it in vBseo CP or Vbulletin CP, I can't find them.

Please kindly advise.

It is within the vBSEO Control Panel (vbseocp.php) within the URL Rewrites custom settings.

Hi Joe,

Thank you for super-fast response!

So shd I change all to "Sample Custom String" format or just simply select forum_id option???

Which option chooses both forum_title & forum_id as you have suggested? Is it forum[forum_id]?

The only part that is really obsolete is the IonCube/Zend part.

Are you experiencing any performance issues?

I just wanted to optimize my new forum as well as possible but I can't, for example, understand how to perform the first optimization tip.

Is it recommended to do all the tips for maximum SEO?

These tips are primarily for people experiencing slowness on their server.

These are not specifically related to SEO, although a fast server is helpful.

Oh, I see.

Regarding the .htaccess, is this only for dedicated servers with a single forum or could I ask my host to do this for me ( I have a reseller account ).

Remember, I'm new. So, be gentle

How exactly do I do this?

Quote:
Disable "Replace 'Previous/Next Thread' redirect links?" feature.

This option replaces the 'Next Thread' and 'Previous Thread' links with direct, content relevant links. Disabling it will save two database queries per thread page.

Related vbseocp.php options:
  • Direct Links -> Replace 'Previous/Next Thread' redirect links?

You should open http://www.yourdomain.com/vbseocp.php , find "Replace 'Previous/Next Thread' redirect links" option, set it to "No" and save settings.

Quick question, in case a thread has multiple inline image attachments (20-30), would rewriting the attachment url increase the server load substantially. Asking this because my forum has quite a few threads with attachments like these and they are usually the most viewed ones.

Very noticable drop in load after I removed .htaccess and moved the contents of the file to httpd.conf

Thanks
