vbseo html page compression option, should i enable?

I have a forum, about 18,000 members 400,000 posts usually 200 or so online within 30mins. I see vbseo has an html page compression option, will this increase or decrease my server load? Are any big boards using this and is there anything I should be cautious about? Thanks!

It'll increase the load a bit I would imagine, but not enough to be worried. I've used it on big boards before without any problems

I suggest enabling it. The slight overhead caused by this option should be compensated by the lighter pages being served to the end users. Please let us know your findings! I suggest testing different page types such as forums (forumdisplay), threads (showthread), single posts, etc.

I enabled it and the site seems fater now, load doesn't seem to be affected much at all. I'll do the testing out of curiosity, thanks for the link!
