    vbseo.com site

wasn't sure where to post this as I didn't see a site feedback section

but for some reason this site if left open for ages starts using up loads of cpu resources

i'm using google chrome and every now and again the whole machine slows down, if i open the chrome task manager it always seems to be the tab with this site open in it that is hogging the cpu

anyone else have this issue at all?

not sure if anyone is working on the header at the moment as well but that is all messy and overlapped in chrome and firefox for me as well today

Our live person and tweetboard apps run more than just at page load. That may be the cause.

    Hi,

There where some edits being done on the header earlier on today these have been completed for the time being so there shouldn't be any further overlapping if there is please inform us.

With the CPU usage, both the LivePerson and Tweetboard Javascript do stay active and running after the initial page load and this would continue to use CPU usage but it should be fairly constant amount and shouldn't be increasing over time, can I ask roughly how much Chrome is saying that any one page is using?

every now and again it will max out one of the cores and my whole machine pretty much locks up

course it doesn't help that I have about 3gigs worth of stuff running and only 2gig of ram, but it fine all the time without out

wonder if it is the tweetboard thing

It really shouldn't be, do you access any other sites with tweetboard installed? Do you experience any similar problems on them?

For a process of elimination what happens if you keep Tweetboard - True Twitter Conversation open for a few hours?

Sorry for the 20questions but I would love to know what causes these problems for you and hopefully find a fix for you.

OK i left the tweetboard site open as well and its just happened again

loaded the chrome task manager and both the tab for vbseo and the tweetboard tabs were each using up max cpu from my two cores (really slowed down the machine)

looks like it is tweetboard related then

I am using the dev version of chrome rather than the standard release

I only use chrome and always have both tweetboard.com and vbseo.com open, so this is a strange one. I don't use the latest dev versions though not at the moment, so maybe it is something new with the JavaScript engine that the latest Dev version of chrome is using that is memory leaking.

Can you create a ticket over at Tweetboard Support and it will get this raised with the lead developer over there.

    Thank you

Ceri, I have the same problem with only vBSEO Style 1 but if I change the Style to vBSEO Style 2 that's works fine
however if I use vBSEO Style 1 without TB (Before Loading the tweetboard on the page) the forum loading fast without any problem

So I use vBSEO Style 2 now with TB Without any problem

Hmm at work right now but I found the site always scrolled really badly both here and on my home PC

I've just also switched over to the vBSEO 2 style and the scrolling juddering has gone (and i'm encoding a video at the same time)

it also looks a lot nicer as well, any reason it isn't the default style? I'll try it at home tomorrow evening to see if it resolves the tweetboard issue as well.

I find scrolling in Firefox slightly sluggish whenever theres some element floating on the page. In the case of vbseo.com: it's the Tweetboard. It was kind-of acceptable, until you went overboard implementing the rounded corners and the box-shadow via CSS (in the 1.0 pro style); the combination of which really degraded the browsing experience.

Since I don't use that application/widget, just one line (127.0.0.1 tweetboard.com) in the hosts file fixes the problem for me, for the time being. Not everyone has a blazing fast PC.

Just my 2¢. Sorry for being slightly OT.
