    What is it better to use, custom rewrite rule:

    Or the vbseo default rule :
    www.forum.com/f12/topic_title

    If you have any opinion please explain why.

    this is better according to me, more keywords in url nowadays for new domains specially and new content is considered as spam as per some webmasters.
