    vbSEO 3.5 and vB 3.8.x

    Hi there,

Is the current version of vBulletin 3.5 (RC2 Final) stable and usable on production environments on vBulletin 3.8.x installations? I'm dying to finally upgrade and enjoy the new improvements, but don't want to move too soon if it is not yet ready for primetime.

    Thanks!

The only improvement is the new theme in the vbseocp. I would not upgrade, especially if I was a big board until it became gold.

The only improvement was the vbseocp? I'm using vbSEO 3.3.x still, and I don't want to miss out on any of the features. I'm just hoping that they have all been tested to work properly with vBulletin 3.8.x.

There have been some code changes/improvements/fixes, but there are no new features in 3.5 for vb 3.x forums other than the visual CP.
3.5 was designed from the get-go to be our vb4 compatibility release, not a feature enhancement. All new features in 3.5 are for vb4 only (cms, etc).
If you are on 3.3.2, you are not missing out on anything besides the new CP design.

Have any performance optimizations / fixes been made for 3.x boards in vBSEO 3.5, or is it literally running the 3.3.2 code with just the cp change? I'll go ahead and upgrade if the former applies, but don't really mind the cp layout as it is in 3.3.2 and wouldn't want to risk downtime just to improve backend cosmetics.

Nothing has been speed bench marked but there were some code improvements made (a couple loops/etc re-coded to make more sense, etc). That said, I honestly doubt you will notice any significant change to server load. As a big board owner, i would suggest staying with the stable release, 3.3.2 for now (i personally still run 3.3.2 on my personal site on vb3.8 as well)

Great, thanks. That's what we will do, then.
