    vB SEO performance hit

    We just relaunched our site with vB SEO 2.4 and got hit hard with server peaking through the roof. We have 100% CPU load since we launched the site - never seen anything like it.

    Webserver: Xserve G5 2x2 GHz, 2.5 GB RAM, Apache 1.3.3 and APC Performance cache with 256MB allocated.

    MySQL: HP Proliant 3.0GHz, 3GB RAM, MySQL 4.1.19 with "dedicated server" settings - huge cache.

    How much more CPU load is common when switching to vB SEO?

    Are you using vBSEO 2.4.5 or vBSEO 2.4.0?

    2.4.0.

    Is 2.4.5 released and what improvements has been made? Can I upgrade as easily (quickly) as the installation was?

    Open a support ticket and you can upgrade to the 2.4.5 pre-release. It's an easy upgrade, and should have some performance improvements. Note: 3.0.0 is due out within the next few days.

    Thanks! I got the 2.4.5 update and will install this tomorrow morning when server load is lower.

    I am very impressed with how fast I got answers from you. We will buy more licenses soon if my problems disappear!
