Question vB 4 CMS: Static HTML pages

Like many, I have a ton of questions about vB's CMS both related to the core functionality and SEO.

I'm considering coverting from Joomla/Wordpress to the CMS. I've heard at VB.com that you cannot create static HTML pages? Is this true? Is this something that vBSEO would enable?

I have current static HTML pages in Joomla that rank very well with URL's www.mysite.com/great-rankings

With vB4 CMS and vBSEO 3.5, will it be possible to recreate these pages?

Yes you can create "static looking" URLs with vB4, but you cannot adjust the format of the URLs.

How would you guys go about creating static pages? I am currently using Wordpress as my front end and I am thinking of using the VBCMS. I saw how people were doing it with a custom CMS section, but I don't like that method. From the SEO perspective how would you create static pages? I need it to work with VBSEO obviously and I need to be able to utilize VB permissions and styles. Being able to use VBCMS widgets would be a plus.

    Hey Radb,

Seems like a confustion here, with vBSEO yes you can create static looking URL's but no vB pulled the ability to create Static HTML pages from the CMS for some unknown reason.. for now you would have to create custom pages that uses the template system and wouldn't be able to use the CMS itself... That is unless vB add this feature back.

I know VBSEO will not help me create the page itself, but wanted to take a path that would ensure the best SEO results. So you would create pages outside of the VBCMS? I have read about applying permissions/styles on custom pages so I will try that out. What about VBAdvanced? I thought of using VBCMS for articles and VBAdvanced for static pages (still using vbseo on both). Would you go that route or just purely static HTML/PHP pages with the VB permission/styles applied?
