Using the Funnel Tracking

I know this is a new feature but I just want to find out what I'm doing wrong.

The funnel Option in the Goal settings

1. Is it a 5 step process? Do you include http://www.idnforums.com/forums/register.php first? I didn't do this at first & so far I have new members & no conversion stats.

2. What is the recommended Match Type?


I think after looking at the code we might have to put in register.php too...

You only need to put the 4 items listed in the vbSEO CP. The last item listed is the Goal, and the other three above that are the 3 steps.

What about Match Type?

I didn't touch it, so whatever it defaults to.

I'm testing it again now but I think what might be a problem for some people (future FAQ)

Even if you have
http://www.idnforums.com/forums/

When setting up the goal you only need
http://www.domain.com/google-funnel/agreement.html

instead of

http://www.domain.com/forums/google-...agreement.html


I'm testing out both but I think this was my problem I used domain/forums/ in my set up.

I use them just as they are listed in the vbSEO CP. You don't need the full URL.

That's the problem!!!!!

Just to confirm:
Goal = /google-funnel/registration-complete.html
Step 1 = /google-funnel/agreement.html
Step 2 = /google-funnel/regform-show.html
Step 3 = /google-funnel/regform-submit.html

Cool, thanks! I set this up last night and already see some conversions via Google Analytics.

I'm confused... where do I enter them?

When you log into Analytics, go to Settings and you can define up to 4 goals. (This is just one goal.)

Though, it's not completely accurate unfortunately. According to vBulletin I had 857 new registrations in May.

EDIT: Actually it's closer than I thought. That just means that a lot of them haven't activated their account.

vBSEO adds it for you, on the appropriate pages. That's just the name Crawlability came up with to use....
