Upgrading to vb4... redirect nightmare... please help

So, I had vbulletin installed in my /forum directory. But with the new cms and blog features of the suite, I decided to move my installation to the root directory.

I've managed to get everything working although I have not enabled the CMS as of yet. Anyway, my issue is I want my forums to remain (or be rewritten I suppose) into the /forum directory even though they are installed in /. I've searched this forum backward and forward but I cannot seem to get it to work correctly.

I found that rewriting forum.php to forum/ will work for the home page, but my url's and everything else (profiles, etc) are still missing the forum/.

It seems like this should be a one line fix but nothing I've tried seems to work.

    Thanks for your help.

Just to add a bit more info, all of my urls are rewriting in vbseo based on [forum_title]. It seems I need an easy way to change all instances of [forum_title]/ to forum/[forum_title]/.

Export vbseo_all.xml - Open in text editor - find and replace - Save a backup - import changed version.

    That should do the trick.

(When I moved mine to root, I used a .htaccess in the old /forums/ directory to redirect anything back to / .. I moved it up to root to remove that unnecessary extra directory.)

I agree, you should do the redirect NOW, as with the upgrade you're going to go through a bit of a re-index anyway.
