    Question Upgrading Questions

First I want to say thanks, vbseo guys. With the help of vbseo, my forums have consistently outranked and outperformed many others in the search engines the past four years. That being said, we get a ton of traffic from Google, and I don't want to screw it up with this upgrade.

I am considering upgrading to vBulletin 4 from 3.8.7, and I am currently using vbseo 3.5.1.

Is this going to change the URL's in my forums?

What is the best way to do this so we don't lose traffic?

Should I upgrade VB first, then vbseo second? Or does it matter?

Upgrading to vb4 doesn't change urls, with the exception of the new areas like the cms/etc, and the forum home if using the cms. all threads are the same.

you will have to upgrade vb4 first, disabling all products before doing so, then run the vbseo 3.6 upgrade/install onto vb4.

    Hello Chris,

Yes, that's right. You *must* though take out a backup of your settings directly from the vBSEO CP (just in case):

Dashboard -> Data Backup & Restore

Always choose 'vbseo_all.xml' version of the backup.
