I'm considering upgrading to the latest, greatest version but wanted to find out first from those that have, whether it's worth the effort - or if it's better to wait a few more iterations. I'm on vB 3.8x.

3.3.2 will meet end of life soon, likely with our next major release. It's always recommended to run the latest version. Just make sur eyou upgrade to sitemap 2.6. beta2 as well.

As Brian says, you should always run the latest version as it will include the latest features, performance enhancements and bug fixes.
Plus upgrades are so simple to do takes 2-3 min for most users that there is no reason really not to.
