Upgrade to vb 4.1 and change rewrite settings

    Hello,

I want to upgrade my forum from vb3.8 to vb 4.1 and i was thinking to change the url rewrite settings because i'm reading if i upgrade to vb 4.1 you have to go tru the re-index period anyway.

Current Preset: 001 - Hierarchic .html type URLs with content relevant forums and threads (Default Settings)

    and i want to use

002 - Hierarchic directory type URLs with content relevant threads (used at vBSEO - The Leading SEO Plugin for vBulletin)

When i started with vbseo i used the default settings, and now i hate it! When i change or move a forum or thread all my url's are changing.

So what do you guys think, is it a good idea to do it now with the upgrade to vb 4.1? It's prob. better to keep the same, but i really want to change it.

Any tips or information about something that i should know?
Do i need specific rewrite rules?

Changing URL rewrite rules on established sites is a huge mistake and we always suggest not to do it

    Hello ,

No , you'll not need a reindex period at all. Your urls will not change when you update to vBulletin 4
