    Is there an off-line config editor?

    Hi,

    Is there an off-line config editor?
    Since I have another server, every time I try to edit my config, it ends up corrupted.
    CRR shows all data without the comment lines and The whole site stops working while VBSEO is enabled. All pages give invalid page error or just point to the forum index.
    Uploading a new config file fixes trhe problem, but now I am unable to alter the settings and add CRR's.

    Hello ,

    You should always use vBSEO Control Panel interferance to edit your vBSEO Settings. Additionally you can use an editor program such as Editplus to edit your config_vbseo.php file

    I allways do. But now when I hit Save settings, I can immediately see inthe CRR edit box that thigs are wrong (comment lines are gone) and All URL rewriting seems to go wrong.

    So, I was wondering if there is an interface like that to use on the PC. Just to help ruling out mistakes. Changing an array like that of the CRR rules easily lets you forget a comma or quote.

    I've found my problem.
    Two quotes after eachother in the Customr Rewrite Rules causes the behaviour I was experiencing.
    Like this line:
    'index\.php$' => ''

    You always need to define a corresponding rule for CRR rules.

    What does that have to do with the VBSEO not being able to read the config file correctly anymore?

    First things that comes to mind is if you're copying it out to an external editor,
    A) the charsets are mismatched between the browser/vbseocp and your editor
    B) word wrapping/line breaks are weird in the editor and don't correlate once re-pasted into the text area.

    Because you are using a wrong CRR rule which breaks the output of the page.
