    Technorati and VBSEO

I'm trying to figure out how Technorati spiders pages of our forums because although the links in external.php are correct for vbseo and the urls on my home page are as well, the links I'm seeing in the Technorati pages are the old dynamic ones - showthread.php.

So, does anybody know how Technorati spiders and where it's finding the old link formats?

I figured it out. The problem was in the ping code I was using. I fixed that and it's getting the right links now.

How are you pinging Technorati? Do you have a cron job or some custom code?

I'm using a modified version of the ping mod that is at vbulletin.org in addition to some custom tag work that I'm refining.

Yes. And, many of us have modified our vbulletins to either have blogs or be more blog-like.

On my site, for example, I pull featured topics to the main page and consider us to be sort of a blog on steroids.

ok that means you are pulling only few important threads from your entire forum topics and auto-pinging them to technorati ?

sounds cool, can you share this with us ?

Not exactly. I ping technorati with every new thread. But, I only pull the good stuff to the front page. I use all published mods to do it, just in weird combinations I'm writing up my little tweaks so I have them for future reference and posting them on my site.

I read this it's a pretty good idea.
vbSEO anyway to integrate this into the new version?

Perhaps pinging once a few times a day or every hour of after a certain amount of new topics
