I removed my forum name from thread titles as per the suggestion in here.
But it leaves me wondering if it's a good idea or not.
I know the point is to get long tail keywords, but, what about missing out on other keywords?
Say for example, say your forum is on hondas. And your forum name is Honda so it's added to the title.
And you have random posts like:
"Engine problem"
"Problems with my wheels"
"Car won't start"
"General questions"
"Went to a dealer today"
"Having a lot of problems"
Now wouldn't those receive more, targeted traffic if it had "honda" at the end?
The first three, atleast have similar keywords, car, engine, wheels, but the last three (minus dealer maybe), don't have any related keywords, and there are a ton of posts like this on every board.
So instead of "General questions" The page title would be "General questions Honda" or "General questions | Honda"
Would that not be more beneficial for the thousands of threads with no related keywords in title?
Any thoughts?
