They take up very little space, so the downside to having them is minimal IMO.

On the off chance that your users are using them, they are a great tool for quick and easy inbound links to your site, and letting other people know about your forum.

Your users should definitely know what they are and know that bookmarking you helps you out. One good digg can mean a whole boatload of traffic all at once, and a link from an authority site like that is always good for SEO. I think it's a good idea myself, but at the same time, you don't want to completely overwhelm people with buttons, links, and options.

Yes, we are already seeing some light traffic from a couple of diggs that have been done for a few threads here @ vbseo.com.

btw, I just checked out your site... why wouldn't you force forum root as your homepage?

I suggest turning this setting on:
Quote:
Force Forum Root as Homepage?

This will prevent vB from linking to index.php and / interchangeably

That option is NOT there. I searched for "force" (nothing) and "root" and only "rewrite archive root" came up and "my forum root" at the very top of the page.

It sounds like you may have corrupt data in your vbseocp settings that is causing the page not to fully load.

Please open a support ticket with a temporary FTP account so that we can troubleshoot.
