    Submitting RSS feeds: Help or hurt?

    Does submitting your RSS feeds to the various RSS feed sites help or hurt?

    You have the backlink factor and the duplicate content factor.

    Does google "understand" that it is an RSS feed and not penalize for it? Is there backlink quality? Of course it's nice having that much more information about your site out there.

    What is the concensus?

    I would recommend not doing this. All it will help you do is get scrapped by scrapper sites who copy content from feeds.

    Unless you run a tech/computer forum, odds are no one uses your rss feed anyway. I have 6 subscribers out of 56,000 members.
