    Strategies for vBSEO Withdrawal

Has anyone considered how to ween a site off of vBSEO without sending the hundreds or thousands of Search Engine links to 404?

I'm interested to know if anyone else has considered this as renewal is annual, or in the event vBSEO should cease production/support.

There are posts around with examples of .htaccess commands that will allow the new thread links to be redirected to the old style.

The same can be done for Forums if you have the forumid in your forum url format. If not, you can do it manually by redirecting each forum name to its corresponding forumid.

We're not going anywhere! But, ConqSoft is right. There are some relatively simple .htaccess commands that allow you to transition from vBSEO to the non-SEO version of your forum without dropping all of your indexed SERPs in the process.

you could redirect them to the homepage, while the new url's are indexed.

then again I don't see where vbseo would go

Just doing my due diligence folks. Seen lots of things happen online with businesses. I've got people to answer to and bills to pay if the traffic is interrupted for any reason.
