    Strange forum bug..?

    I can't see my thread:

So I noticed some new icons on each post..

listed on the forumdispaly for the "General Discussion" page here.. I don't know why that is?

I can see if it I go to the forum index as the "last posted thread" (though it wont be after this)

Not sure if it's a bug you guys are aware of or it's some strange setting I've enabled? I've never heard of being able to ignore your own threads or something like that.

Try CTRL-F5. I notice some strange caching issues today here.

F5 didn't work, clearing cookies, cache, and restarting Firefox entirely did though..

    Very weird

I have a user on my forum who has this problem sometimes with IE6, any idea what's causing this?

Is it vbSEO or a vBulletin issue?

Hm.. Oddly, I'm still having this problem even with new replies and the like

    Hope it's not a problem with RC4!

In FireFox, try CTRL-R. That should force a refresh, ignoring cache.

Funny, I had the same issue today with one of the threads I posted. I could see it in my subscribed threads, but not in the forum listing.

I was going to post, but at the end of my post I wrote - or maybe it's a wierd caching issue on my machine. Before posting, I went back and hit ctrl+F5 and bada-boom - the thread was there.

I inspected the cache-control headers and they seem fine. I think it could be either a db-cache issue, an accellerator cache issue, a vB issue, or a vbSEO issue. I haven't bothered much trying to replicate the problem on my own test forum, but considering that on this site they are playing around with a new release candidate, are running on a 1.3x version of apache,
and they are actively troubleshooting a pretty extensive forum skin - I decided to chalk it up to good old fashioned gremlins.

I can confirm that I've been experiencing the same behavior.

I'm having similar problems, but I've always had some sort of problems with vbseo.com, threads don't get marked as read if I don't read them (like they do on other forums). I'm guessing vbseo.com has a long cookie timeout or something

We have a long cookie timeout on our forums and we don't have this problem

Something else has to be going on here. I also haven't had this problem before now, so I'm wondering if something changed recently.

I'm also having a "plaintext" version of the page load when I click on various links now.. that's new too.

Confirming: We are experiencing some caching issues that might be the culprit of the problems mentioned above. An update will be posted here as soon as this is resolved.

    Thanks!
