Stopwords questions

A couple of questions about using stop words.

I have found a list thats in the right format for copy/ pasting straight into vbseo

Here's the questions.

By adding the above list will it affect my urls that are already done

I presently have stopwords set to smart which I just looked and noticed is pretty dumb since I have no max length limit on the urls

Is it worth adding the word "forum" to the stop words, since its already in my main url.

So in other words by starting to use the stop words feature, will it change and kill off any urls that have already been indexed.

yes - changing the stopwords list will affect existing URLs in case if they include those words. Although vBSEO will automatically redirect old URLs to new ones, it's probably better to keep the list unchanged if you have vBSEO running for quite some time, to avoid reindexing of significant number of pages.

Does vbseo automatically do the redirects or is there a box I would need to tick somewhere.

I made a few changes in the back ground that pushed hits up by 100 to 150 a day in the first week. So now Im just milking it for every thing I can

At the moment I have the urls set to display the same as vbseo in the control panel, ie forums by numbers and threads with title description words in them.

Killing off the stop words would kill a lot of junk in a url like that.

Anything that brings in an extra hit here or there cant be a bad idea.

Be nice to see the long term affects after six months.

The redirect is performed automatically, there is no setting for that.
