Stop Sitemap From Indexing a Specific Section of the Forum

pardon my lack of knowledge but I am new to this so here goes.

How do I stop the sitemap generator from indexing a specific section on my forums. That section is password protected to prevent guests from viewing but I assume the sitemap generator will still put those links in the sitemap and submit to google. I would think that not indexing them would be a good idea?

use robots file for de-indexing you pages just create robots txt file and disallow page that you don't need to index by search engine.

basically robots file concept are coming for stopping negative impact of spam web pages and link at website.

thanks but I can't figure out how to prevent them from visiting a certain section on the forum, I don't want to block the whole forum. In the forum I have a section called manuals, that is the part I want blocked or not included in the sitemap.

The sitemap will only include guest-viewable forums by default. You don't need to do anything.

You can also exclude any forum you want within Sitemap Generator Settings.
