Wink Speed up your website's page speed, here's one way to do it!

vB default templates do not include "width" and "height" attributes for images. Providing image dimensions for all images within your forum will speed-up page rendering in most Web browsers. Forcing image dimensions also ensures that search engines can better determine the relationship of images to surrounding text when calculating the keyword relevancy of your forum pages.
In an effort to enhance and improve the user experience in my community, I got an idea when I read the above. I created a tool to produce a perfectly complete file of all the vBulletin images with their widths & heights formatted and ready to be pasted right into vBSEO. Talk about speeding up your page rendering!

I was all excited, thrilled in fact, I made something that actually worked! Unfortunately I was denied by the vBSEO control panel. Sadly the "Define Dimension Attributes" area of the vBSEO control panel only allows 200 image attributes to be specified.

Now I'm telling myself that limit must simply be an oversight, there's 216 images just in the "/images/misc/" sub directory. So what's the work around, before you make me go find it?

We already supplied a tool for this a long time ago. You need to go and ask vBulletin to remove unused images.

Good idea. They're many that are never used. Where's the vBSEO tool you speak of?

Unfortunately it processes every image it finds - everywhere. Most of those images vBSEO doesn't even look at or care about. I wonder what would happen if I added 50k lines of attribute code to the vBSEO config file?

It will overflow the datastore table and cripple your site. Its limited at 200 for a VERY good reason.

95% of the images used should be in the CSS as background images anyway.... just sayin'
