Sitemap question

vBSEO.com has Sitemap in the footer. My site says Archive, but appears to have the same info. I have vbSEO sitemap generator installed. In thinking about this, I wonder:

1) Is it helpful/good/better to change "Archive" to "Sitemap"?
2) Is it possible and/or helpful/good/better to somewhow use the sitemap generated in the link at the footer?

UPDATE: Duh, I forgot/didn't realize about the vBSEO function to change the hierarchy and do the redirects...I assume this is the preferred method, just let me know if I am missing anything. I am assuming, too that Archive and Sitemap are interchangeable/have negligible effect on SEO.

Thanks!

Hello Jason ,

There are differnet approaches for archieve. Personally i disable footer archieve links on my site however i keep my archieve turned on with redirect thread links to original url's. Some people decide to keep the archieve turned off. Some people keep it on as the format at vBSEO.
If you decide to keep it on and installed vBSEO for at least 2-3 weeks i advşse you to keep your current settings as changing url structure will always have bad effect on your rankings.
