Site Down; Not Happy; Hopefully vbSEO Team can offer explanation.

I came back to my PC to find that my site wasn't responding, though my AdminCP was working fine. I then find that the vbSEO.com site is also down. I disabled the vbSEO plugin and everything was back to normal on my site.

Am I understanding that the vbSEO plugin is accessing vbSEO.com's site/database for every page load on my site? If so, I must say that this is unacceptable. I do not want the availability of my site to rely on the availability of your site.

What has happened exactly?
I noticed that www.vbseo.com was down, handing me a database error.

Re: Site Down; Not Happy; Hopefully vbSEO Team can offer explanation.

In IE, my site returned a 'Page cannot be displayed' error.

In firefox, it just kept on loading forever, never displaying a page.

Conqsoft,

We sent you your registration key for 2.1. However, we should have also sent you the 2.1.1 registration key. Once your key is in place, your forum will not contact our registration server.

PM Sent.

Juan I am totally concerned about this and nothing was ever said that your site was going to have us rely on your server. If you have paying client as all of us are, we all need our keys. I was wondering why my site was gathering errors earlier today.

Please PM me or call me (I never received a call back on my two voice mails) and I would like to know more about this key.

I believe that you owe us some sort of explanation on this one man

Re: Site Down; Not Happy; Hopefully vbSEO Team can offer explanation.

@All,

Approved vBSEO customers & testers do not require a registration key. Your key will be automatically retrieved from our registation database when you first install.

In preparation for our new members area (coming soon), we have added support for a setting for registration keys directly within config_vbseo.php.

In ConqSoft's case, his URL was not registered in our database of approved sites for version 2.1.1 - this was our mistake and should not be experienced by anyone else.

Re: New Members Area

Once released, the new members area will list all of your licensed forum URLs along with their respective registration keys.

No, this only occurs the first time you execute the script. It will occur repeatedly only when a site is unapproved.

Re: Site Down; Not Happy; Hopefully vbSEO Team can offer explanation.

Yes, I did receive my key for 2.1 and put it in my config file, but didn't realize it would be different for 2.1.1.

Thanks! Added the new key.

Why does it do this and for how long on the first time we excute the script >>>>> Mike = Stupid

I hope I do not regret buying an encryped software after I was highly skeptical of it but felt assured by others.....

OK Juan,
The way I read this

We as product holders must keep our registration/license up to date or Our forums will not work?
Is that right?
