Simple words being removed from URL

    Hey,

I noticed that when you click on some threads on my forums, the URL's are not displaying the simple words such as 'the', 'a', and 'of' etc.

For example, I have a thread called: Track of the Month [April]

But the URL of this thread is: http://www.lilwaynehq.com/forums/lil...nth-april.html

I want the link to be: http://www.lilwaynehq.com/forums/lil...nth-april.html

I think this will be an option with vBSEO, but I can't see how to edit this setting anywhere.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

    Thanks.

    Hello Danny,

Yes, it's vBSEO feature and it called "Stopword Filtering" if you use vBSEO 3.5 Follow these steps to find that option vbseocp > SEO Functions > Stopword Filtering and you will see a list with the words that will remove from the URL.

Marco, is there a way to adjust this for vBSEO 3.3.2? I haven't upgraded vBSEO to 3.5 because I understand the new version is primarily for vBulletin 4.0. I would like to change the stop word settings, though, because I think threads may do better in search engine results if they are exact matches of peoples' queries. Thanks!

Yes Johnny, This feature is also in vBSEO 3.3.2 However you can install vBSEO 3.5 in your vb3 forum, vBSEO 3.5 is compatible with both vb3 and vb4.

In vbseo 3.3.2 follow these steps : vBSEOCP > SEO Functions > Stopword Filtering.
