Server load?

Hi

Since a few days we have extremely high server load. Not sure if it has to do with vbSEO but it's like threefold or more!

Could it be ? Or is it just me?

If it's vb SEO , can I reduce the server load? It's like more than 10 or 20 sometimes!

If I'm wrong, something else must have changed on the server that is causing this high load.

TY

Re: Server load?

Thank you,

Well it is like 3 days very high now. Can you (or from the team) explain why it will be less after a while and when?

To be honest, if it stays the way it is now we can't use vbseo anymore :(

Same here.

I'd love to hear an explanation from Crawlability.

Re: Server load?

Anyone who is experiencing high server loads please PM Oleg with your pre-vbseo post-vbseo load, php.info and server specs. There are ways to solve this issue for servers with root access.

Is it completely off when I set activate plugin to 'no' in vbseo cpanel? Or do I need to remove files en plugins in vbulletin/forums too?

Re: Server load?

You need to disable the plugin(s), and remove the .htaccess file from your forums root I think.

Re: Server load?

Hi dutchbb,
you may deactivate plugin in vB admincp and comment out the "RewriteEngine on" line in your .htaccess.

Re: Server load?

OK, I think I found the culprite.

Enabling the new "previous/next thread" options caused my server load to skyrocket. Everything is back to normal now that I turned it off.

I never put that on, but it was still very high. Our server simply can't take the stress, even with all the accelerator software.

So I think we need to upgrade servers very soon...

Before upgrading, I'd suggest you try disabling this setting first. My average server load is now 0.6-0.9 (down from 2+!)

Re: Server load?

Yes, this is a complex query and should be enabled for smaller sites only
