Seo question

Hello,

I would like to ask a question about seo.

I installed vbseo few days ago, and i am trying to give final decision about site before google fully index the site.

Here is the deal,

At my site's mainpage, i installed joomla and i also have a forum under forum folder. So urls are like :

joomla side :

sitename.com/news, sitename.com/news2 etc.

forum side :

sitename.com/forum/categoryname, sitename.com/forum/categoryname2

so when i have a thread in category named "categoryname" it shows like

sitename.com/forum/categoryname/threadname.html


And my question,

Does it matter anything if my forum is under forum directory or is it better if i move it to root?

More explanation :

sitename.com/forum/categoryname/threadname.html

or

sitename.com/categoryname/threadname.html


Which of them is better for seo or doesn't it matter at all ?

I like everything at root level, but I would not change it if it is already in place and your site has been online for a while.

My site is not online for long time, but if i change those structures it means some extra work for me. But as i said, if it matters anything for seo i can do it. But if its not changes anything at all, than there is no need. Because both ways are ok for me, the important fact is which one is better for seo
