    RSS Feed URL Changes Randomly

    Hello,

I'm running vbulletin 4.1.4 Patch Level 1 (w/CMS) and vbSEO. I parse my RSS feed with a php file to use in my newsletter. I noticed the URLs were screwy after I hit refresh on the page.

The URLs started out with the official permalink to the blogs (articles are fine). After hitting refresh they changed to mysite.com/entry.php?b%3D82

I visited the actual feed and the urls are still in the wrong format.

I suspect this will switch back and forth. This isn't the first time this has happened.

Any ideas why vbSEO urls only work on the RSS feed urls some of the time?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

Please be more specific about what you are doing as it is confusing...

Is the rss feed FROM your site, or a 3rd party?
What exactly are you doing with it? displaying it as an rss feed? or importing it into a forum to display as a post

    Sorry.

I take the RSS feed from the vbulletin cms, parse that in a php file, and paste the code into my email newsletter.

The RSS feed seems to work find for the vbulletin cms articles, but the vbulletin blogs have urls that lose their permalink randomly.

Correct URL: 10 Reasons I'm Not Going Portable With My Studio Anymore

URL that sometimes shows up in the RSS feed: http://forum.recordingreview.com/entry.php?b%3D83

If I wait 10, 20, or 60 minutes and refresh it will eventually fix itself to the correct URL in the RSS feeds.

If you create an article, and then run the 'clear cms cache' option, does it work right away?

No, that doesn't seem to change anything, unfortunately.

It's so strange how random this problem is. It seems to occur every time I fire up my feed, but eventually I get the good URL after hitting refresh enough.

It's not my RSS parser as the actual feed URLs included with vBulletin have the same problem. I'm not positive this is a vbSEO issue, but I figured the re-written urls had something to do with it.

    Any more idears?

If you disable vbseo, does it work correctly?

Good question. I'll have to wait for it to break again to see if disabling vbSEO fixes it.

    Thanks
