renaming subforum

I run a mmo gaming forum with vbseo and I wish to change the name of one of my most popular subforum from "world of warcraft" to "world of wacraft guides". By changing the name of the forum, would it hurt the seo of all the threads inside?

If you are using forum_title as your forumpath , then yes it will hurt your pages current rankings.

When I changed my forum names I had to wait for three weeks until Google recognizes the new URLs, so think twice before you do it
