Renaming forum categories, Google effect?

Hi,

We just have changed a few forum titles and we instantly dropped from 600.000 to 187.000 Google results. Now we are going tot change the rest of the forum titles en descriptions.

Will we drop even further? And is this a long term effect or will everything be indexed again real soon?

Hello,

when you update the forum title all thread URLs from that subforum are changed too (assuming that you have forum title in URLs), so search engines will have to reindex those pages. vBSEO automatically redirects old URLs in this case, so that should help search engines to reindex them faster.
