If you rename htaccess you'll disable vBSEO. What is the name of the chat program, and why is it not working? (symptoms?)
The program is flasherize. The error is "The requested URL /vbseo.php was not found on this server." This is when I try to access the admin cp of the program. I did rename it back now.
Is the chat program in a sub-dir of your forum directory? If so, place a .htaccess file in THAT directory, with only this line in it:
RewriteEngine Off
Thanks for the replies. I just completed your suggestion and it still did not work.
Now it comes down to their program. Thanks guy's!!!!
You get the same error after putting htaccess in that directory?
Here is the error I am receiving:
Miscellaneous PHP Problem [ 2048 ] Description: var: Deprecated. Please use the public/private/protected modifiers.
Due to the dependency on both PHP and MySQL, Flasherize must remain temporarily closed until the error is rectified. We are sorry for any inconveniences.
The chat software is located on my root folders, not the forum folders. The DB for the chat program is pointed at the forum DB. All tables were built correctly after running the install script. But this is the error I receive when I trto complete the install by logging into the admin cp.
The folder on my root is "ChatRoom" That is where I installed the new .htaccess file.
Yes, that is an error related to the app itself now. The .htaccess mentioned above keeps vBSEO from trying to rewrite anything under your chat directory, so now you should be able to contact their support to get it up and running.
Excellent. Thank you very much for your help!
correct me if i'm wrong, but you could you not simply add swf or flv into the exclusions in the htaccess file?
(gif|jpg|etc) are in there already.
Thanks for the input everyone.
Does anyone know of any forums that are running the Flasherize program with vBseo? I am just asking so I can contact them on the installation process.
The vBSEO part doesn't matter. You have effectively disabled vBSEO from trying to process anything in your chat directory.
That is what I thought. I thank you for the fix. Just looking for someone who has experiance with the program.
Have you asked John (smacklan)?
He is the author of Flasherize, perhaps his support forums would be the place to ask.
