Redirect current VBSeo enabled forums to New VBSeo disabled forums

Hi all

Hope all is well.
I have a question that i'd really appreciate if anyone could answer.

i have been using VBSeo for more than 1 year now and wish to uninstal vbseo for my current site due to slow server issues and ineffective seo effects.

VBSEO enabled forums: Zerotohundred.com Forums - '(00)

To minimise the effects of not found pages, What i wish to do is:

1 - Copy my current forums to another new directory. (i.e.: /forums)
2 - When visitors arrive from links or search to /newforums/xxxx/xxxx
3 - They will be redirected to /forums/showthread.php?t=XXXXXX

How should i do that? is there anyone who can help me with this?

here are the rewrite rules to reverse SEOed URLs (with default URL formats set in vBSEO CP): Allowing for .com and .net?

hi Oleg Thanks for the prompt reply! I think what you suggested would do the trick, the thing is, i'm no pro in this field. could you tell me what i should do with this .htaccess file? 1- firstly, would need to edit the .htaccess file (what do i edit?) 2- I would need to upload this to my directory, (but which one? i need all from /newforums to be redirected to /forums Thanks in advanced!! You will have to create .htaccess file in the folder where your forum is currently installed (/newforums/): Allowing for .com and .net?
Rewrite rules are unchanged since your new folder name is /forums/ (like in that example).
