Question about upgrading vb

About a week ago, I upgraded to vb 3.7 beta 4 for 3.6.8 PL2. I lost a days worth of data because of my analystics code getting edited out of templates.

What my real question is, does the upgrade have a negative effect on perception of your site by SE? I am wondering if it has the effect of "turning back the clock" for how vBSEO makes your site look to google.

I have had some slight decreease in traffic from right before I installed (about 220 visits before, now about 140-150 per day). I am not worrried, I know SEO is a game played over time. I am just trying to understand how upgrade would effect SEO.

It depends on the type of upgrade, since many factors can change.

Downtime would be a very negative factor, as would a move to an entirely new domain.

But there a hundreds of other factors that could cause impact. My suggestion is to give it more time to see how it changes over the next few weeks.

You can of course still actively review your forum, seeking opportunities for further improvements.
