Problems using vbseo on XAMPP for MacOSX

    Hello,

after a couple of years testing our forum offline with xampp for Windows successfully, we switch over to MacOSX last week.

Now we have the problem, that XAMPP 1.7.3 for MacOSX doesn't work very well with vbseo. The Forum pages work fine but our index.php (portal page) shows up PHP code of vbseo. (forum index is forum.php)

As mentioned all forum pages work fine. Do you have any ideas, what the problem could be?

P.S.: Of course we use a modified hosts file to link localhost to our domain name.

Thanks in advance for some help.

    Hello ,

There is not much to say as the issue can highly be related to your xampp installation. On Mac OS i actually don't see the reasoning on running Xampp , you can run everything without Xampp.

You just need to enable PHP within your included Apache modules and restart apache. It is also installed but not enabled by default and everything should be controlled through terminal.

    Hello,

If you don't feel comfortable or are not so experienced running Apache and PHP built in Mac OS, you can try another apps, like MAMP or Zend Server Community Edition. They both offer MySQL, phpMyAdmin and Apache.

    I personally prefer Zend Server.
